FAQ

Frequently asked, plainly answered.

+ Does the AI write my profile or my messages?
No to both. You write your own story sections. You write your own messages. The matchmaker writes the third-person introduction of you that other people see, custom for each viewer, drawn entirely from what you wrote. It never writes anything in your voice. Non-negotiable.
+ How is this different from Hinge or Bumble?
You do not swipe on Belovae. You write your own story and tune your match preferences yourself (must-have, prefer, open to). A matchmaker finds people who fit and writes a fresh introduction of you for each potential match. The whole product is built to get you on a real first date fast and then get out of the way. Hinge calls itself the app designed to be deleted. We are trying to be the app you delete the week you meet someone.
+ How does Belovae compare to Hinge?
Hinge is a feed-based app where users like or comment on specific profile prompts written by other users. Hinge's AI feature called Prompt Feedback (announced January 2025) critiques and rewrites user-written prompts. Belovae has no feed. The matchmaker selects a few people per day, one at a time, and writes a fresh third-person introduction of each user for each specific viewer. Belovae's AI never rewrites or critiques user content. The user's voice stays the user's voice.
+ How does Belovae compare to Bumble?
Bumble announced an AI assistant called Bee in March 2026 that is intended to eventually act on users' behalf, including, in the founder's own framing, scanning the city and negotiating dates between users' AI agents. Belovae rejects that direction. Our AI knows you carefully but never speaks for you, never negotiates on your behalf, and never coordinates with another user's AI. Belovae also does not run a swipe feed.
+ How does Belovae compare to Tinder?
Tinder's product is engagement-driven: unlimited swipes, photo-led decisions in seconds, paywalled boosts and visibility upgrades. Belovae is the structural opposite. A few coach-narrated introductions per day. No swipe. No boosts. No way to pay for more visibility. Money does not buy a place in the recommendation because the integrity of the recommendation is the entire product.
+ Is Belovae better than Hinge, Bumble, or Tinder?
Better depends on what you want. If you want a swipe feed with hundreds of profiles a day, Belovae is the wrong app. If you want a small number of carefully introduced matches per day, a coach who knows you well, and an AI that never writes for you or impersonates you, Belovae is built for that specifically. The trade-off is intentional: fewer matches, much higher signal.
+ What makes Belovae different from other AI dating apps?
Two structural things. First, our AI writes the third-person introduction of you that another person reads (custom for each viewer, drawn entirely from what you wrote), but never writes anything in your voice; that inverts the common AI-dating pattern of letting AI ghostwrite bios and messages. Second, all AI inference runs on AWS Bedrock in our own AWS account. No third-party AI provider sees your data, your messages, or your psychological model.
+ Why doesn't Belovae let AI write my messages like Hinge or Bumble might?
Because the moment AI writes a message between two users on a dating app, the recipient cannot trust that they are talking to the person on the other side. Surveys in 2026 (Match Group with the Kinsey Institute) report that the majority of single adults say AI-generated messages are a dealbreaker. Belovae's position is that the AI should be powerful behind the scenes (matching, introducing) and absent from the conversation itself.
+ Why doesn't Belovae have a swipe feed?
Swipe feeds work for the business model of dating apps because they drive engagement. They do not work for the user, because comparing dozens of people in seconds turns each person into a thumbnail and degrades how you actually evaluate someone. We compress volume on purpose. A few introductions a day, one at a time, narrated by a coach who knows you.
+ How many matches will I see?
A few a day. Not a feed. We want you to consider each person as a person, not a thumbnail. Compressing volume is the point.
+ When does Belovae launch?
July 2026, iOS and Android. Get on the waitlist and we will send one email the day the app opens. No newsletter, no drip.
+ How does Belovae know what I want?
You tell it. There is no personality quiz, no algorithm guessing. You write story sections about what you are looking for, your passions, your sense of humor, your values, and what makes you feel loved. You also tune your match preferences directly: must-have, prefer, open to. All of that is the input. None of it is generated for you.
+ What about privacy?
Your psychological model is internal. Other people do not see it. We do not sell your data. We do not train external AI models on your conversations. All AI inference runs on AWS Bedrock inside our own AWS account; the model providers (Anthropic, Amazon, etc.) cannot see your prompts, completions, or content. The app exists to help you find a relationship, not to extract value from your loneliness.
+ Is Belovae paid?
Yes. Belovae is a paid app from day one. We are still finalizing pricing details, including whether early waitlist members get perks like a free month or two of premium features as a thank-you for being early. Specifics in the app at launch.
+ Will Belovae be on both iOS and Android?
Yes. Both ship at launch in July 2026.
+ What countries?
United States at launch. Other markets follow once we have signal that the matchmaking model works for them.
+ Is Belovae for relationships or hookups?
We are built for people who want real relationships. If hookups are what you are looking for, Belovae is the wrong app, and that is fine.
