The short version. You write your own story. Our AI runs inside our own AWS account, so no third-party model provider sees your data. We never sell your information, and we don't train external AI models on your conversations. You can delete your account and data at any time. The long version is below.
1. Who we are
Belovae is operated by a small team building an AI-native dating app. "Belovae," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of belovae.com and the Belovae mobile applications.

2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to the Belovae website, the Belovae iOS app, the Belovae Android app, and any related communications. It explains what we collect, how we use it, how AI works at Belovae, who we share data with, and the choices you have.
Where your local law gives you stronger rights than this policy describes, those rights apply.
3. The data we collect
Data you give us
- Account data: email address, phone number, date of birth (for age verification only), name or chosen display name.
- Profile data: photos, voice and video clips, demographic answers (gender, sexuality, pronouns, height, location, occupation, education, intent, lifestyle attributes, family plans, religion, political beliefs), and your written story sections (passions, sense of humor, values, what you are looking for, what makes you feel loved).
- Match preferences: your tuned must-have, prefer, and open-to weights for compatibility dimensions.
- Messages and coach interactions: what you send to other users, what you send to your coach, and how you respond to coach prompts.
- Verification data: liveness photo or video used to confirm your photos match you. This is a biometric identifier.
- Payment data: handled by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat. Belovae receives transaction confirmations but does not store full payment card numbers.
- Communications with us: support tickets, feedback, and any messages you send us directly.
Data collected automatically
- Device and technical data: device type, OS version, app version, IP address, language settings, time zone.
- Usage data: features used, screens visited, time spent, click patterns, response patterns. We use this to debug, prioritize features, and detect abuse.
- Location data: approximate location (city level) derived from IP or device. Precise GPS only if you grant the permission and only for the purposes you authorize.
- Cookies and similar technologies: on the website only, for site functionality and (with your consent) analytics. See the cookie banner.
Data we infer
- A psychological model of your relationship style, communication style, values, attachment patterns, and other compatibility dimensions, derived from your onboarding conversation, story sections, and in-app behavior. This model is internal to your account, never visible to other users, and never sold or transferred.
- Behavioral signals about safety (e.g., flagged content, blocked accounts, reports against you).
4. How we use your data
- To build and continuously refine your internal compatibility model.
- To match you with other users whose stories and tuned preferences fit yours.
- To generate the third-person introduction of you that potential matches read. The introduction is drawn entirely from what you wrote, in your raw material. Each viewer sees an introduction tailored to what would resonate with that specific viewer.
- To help your coach support you (proactive nudges, date prep, conversation health observations, reflection prompts).
- To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, harassment, or illegal activity.
- To verify your photos are you, via the liveness check.
- To send you transactional emails (account, match notifications, security alerts) and, with your consent, occasional product updates.
- To improve the product (debugging, feature prioritization, anonymized usage analysis).
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data for any other purpose without your consent.
5. How AI works at Belovae
This is the section most other dating apps bury. Belovae uses AI to power three things: the matchmaker (selecting who might be a good fit), the introduction (writing the third-person profile a potential match reads about you), and the coach (the persistent support presence in your Coach tab). Every part runs inside our own infrastructure on Amazon Web Services.
Specifically, all AI inference runs on AWS Bedrock. AWS publishes the following guarantees about Bedrock, which we rely on:
- "Amazon Bedrock never shares your data with model providers or uses it to train foundation models." (source)
- "No, AWS and the third-party model providers will not use any inputs to or outputs from Amazon Bedrock to train Amazon Nova, Amazon Titan, or any third-party models." (source)
- "Model providers don't have any access to those accounts... they don't have access to Amazon Bedrock logs or to customer prompts and completions." (source)
In plain English: when our coach reads your story, or our matchmaker selects a potential match, or our system writes an introduction of you, the underlying AI model is running inside an AWS-managed account. The companies that built the models (Anthropic, Amazon, etc.) do not see your data. We do not send your data to OpenAI, Google AI, or any third-party AI service.
We never use your conversations, messages, or psych model to train any AI model, internal or external.
You retain the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing where that decision has legal or similarly significant effects on you. Belovae's matching and introduction generation are not such decisions in the legal sense, but you can always opt out of further use by deleting your account.
6. How we share data
We do not sell your personal data.
We share data only with the following categories of recipients, only for the purposes described:
- Other users: the parts of your profile you have made visible, the introductions the matchmaker writes about you, and any messages you choose to send.
- Service providers under contract: AWS (hosting and AI inference), our identity verifier for liveness (specific provider to be confirmed before launch), payment processors (Apple, Google, RevenueCat for in-app purchases), transactional email provider (to be confirmed before launch), and customer support tooling. Each is bound by contract to use your data only for the services they provide to us.
- Aggregate or de-identified data: we may publish or share anonymized statistics that cannot reasonably be linked to you.
- Law enforcement and legal process: only when we are required by valid legal process or where we believe it necessary to protect users from imminent harm.
- In a corporate transaction: if Belovae is acquired or merges with another company, your data may be transferred subject to the same protections in this policy.
7. International transfers
Belovae is operated from the United States. If you are using Belovae from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. Where required, we use standard contractual clauses or equivalent legal mechanisms.
8. How long we keep your data
Concrete retention windows:
- Active account data: kept while your account is active.
- After account deletion: profile, photos, story sections, messages, and psych model deleted within 30 days, with an explicit "delete now" path in app for immediate removal.
- Safety hold: for accounts removed for serious violations, we keep a minimal record of the violation, account identifiers, and device fingerprint for 24 months, so the user cannot rejoin under a new account during that window.
- Liveness biometric data: deleted within 30 days after the liveness check completes successfully.
- Transaction records: kept as long as required by tax law (currently 7 years in the US).
- Support tickets and direct correspondence: 2 years.
- Server logs: 90 days, then automatically purged.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
You can exercise these rights in-app via Settings, or by emailing privacy@belovae.com. We respond within 30 days.
10. Children
Belovae is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using Belovae, please report the account immediately.
11. Security
We use industry-standard security practices: encryption in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher), encryption at rest, AWS Key Management Service for key handling, access controls, monitoring, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure. If you become aware of a vulnerability, please email security@belovae.com.
12. Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will notify you in-app and by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Trivial changes (typos, clarifications) may be made without notice and are reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top.
